Welcome Call to Order	President Sara Jane= Gainor called the meeting to order at 5:15 pm. She welcomed the 25 members in attendanc= e. (see list below)
Introduction of Board Members and Officers	The following WVRHA Board Members and Officers= and were introduced (not all were in attendance): Susan Anderson Borror, Elaine Bowen (Secretary= ,) Norma Bowyer, Patricia Crawford (President Elect,) Sister Rebecca Fidler, Sara Jane Gainor (President,) Sharon G= iles (Treasurer,) Susan Griffith-Chapman, Lew Holloway, Sally Richardson, Phil Schenk, Dave Sotak, Alicia Ty= ler, April Vestal (Immediate Past President)
NRHA Perspective and Linkage=	Past President Sand= ra Pope presented an overview of the WVRHA, its genesis in 1996 and growth to become an organization in 2003. The WVRHA is an important part of the 10,000+ member National Rural Health Association. Joining committees and issue groups ar= e excellent ways for WVRHA members to become actively involved in NRHA.
President’s Report=	President Sara Jane Gainor reported on the following: · &nbs= p; WVRHA has 63 individual members and 10 organizational memberships (total votes – 93) · Agreement and collaboration with the Office of Community Health Systems. (Sara Jane – please add a statement re th= is agreement.) · &nbs= p; Committees, their membership, purpose, activit= ies and accomplishments (see attached report) &nbs= p; - All members were encouraged to serve on committees and be active= ly involved in the WVRHA. · &nbs= p; Rural Health Issues Meeting<= /p> &nbs= p; - Dave Sotak, Phil Schenk, and Sally Richardson spoke about plans = for community forums in spring 2007. They &nbs= p; explained the handout in the membership packet.<= /p>
Nominations Committee Report=	April Vestal discussed the process involved in filling the six Board vacancies = for the coming year. She encouraged members to nominate themselves or others = who can actively work toward the success of the WVRHA. The following nominations were made and accepted: Michael Thompson, Hilda Hea= dy, Sharon Lansdale, Dr. Shaik. A follow-up communication with WVRHA members will solicit for additional nominations. All individual nominees must complete a nomination form. The= n, materials will be sent to the membership. The membership will vote to fill six slots.
Fundraising	Phil Schenk reported on Silent Auction and encouraged members to bid high on t= he auction items. He commended Lisa Scarberry for her assistance with the WV= RHA fundraising efforts.
Other Announcements	President Sara Jane= Gainor drew names for door prizes (WVRHA blankets.) Sharon Lansdale inv= ited members to attend the reception later in the conference. Hilda Heady encoura= ged members to attend the 2007 NRHA Annual Conference and Minority & Multicultural Conference, which will be held on May 14-18, 2007 in Anchorage, Alaska.
