NRHA TA Gra= nt - Update	Patricia Crawford reported that the technical assist= ance grant update (year ending 11/30/07) has been completed will be submitted to = NRHA.
NRHA Policy= Institute Update/Mid-Atlantic Roundtable	Discussion of Maryland’s request for a regional meeting of state Rural Health Association to discu= ss position possibilities for RHA’s in regional construct. Mich= ael Thompson reported that hill visits were to be conducted as part of the ti= me spent in DC (1= /29/08).
Community F= orums Update
WVRHA Membe= rship List to NRHA Update	The list of participants attending the 2007 Rural He= alth Conference who received free WVRHA memberships has not yet been received.=	Michael Thompson will f= ollow up with OCHS regarding the list
New Busines= s:
Welcome to = New Board Members	Mich= ael Thompson issued a welcome to new board members for 2008 – These are Laura Welch, Lisa Scarberry, Elaine Mason and Jill McDaniel
Board Orien= tation	History of WVRHA – Sandra Pope provided a hist= ory of the WV Rural Health Association Accomplishments 2007 – Rural Health Forums hel= d, 133 voting members (94 individual, 13 organizational). Structure of Organization/Committee – Michael Thompson discussed the current structure of WVRHA and invited new board members to become involved in committee work
Resignation= of Dr. Shaik	Michael Thompson said he had received a resignation = letter from Dr. Mazharullah Shaik from the WVRHA Board.	Nominating committee ch= aired by Patricia Crawford should take a look at the replacement of Dr. Shaik̵= 7;s position on the board and bring recommendations to the board for approval= .
Election of= New Officers	The following elections were held by the WVRHA Board= of Directors President-Elect – Lew Holloway, MS, CHES Secretary – April L. Vestal, MPH Treasurer – Lisa Scarberry
Committee R= eports	Membership/Communication – Co-Chairs for the c= ombined committee are Lew Holloway and Alicia Tyler Fundraising – Co-Chairs of the committee are J= eff Graham and Lisa Scarberry Nominations and Election Process – Chaired by = past President Patricia Crawford Policy – Chairs are Sally Richardson and Hilda= Heady Bylaws – Chair for the committee is Lynn McCor= mick Discussion was held by the board on a focus for the committees. Membership/Communications will be meeting to develop a strategy for obtaining members, growing memberships and development of a communications plan. Policy committee̵= 7;s focus was to conduct forums and to assist in getting forums out to appropriate groups/organizations and assist with any strategic planning.<= /p> Michael Thompson discussed priorities for the Associ= ation for 2008. The board was in agreement that the priorities should be 1) membership/communications, 2) forum documents as part of legislation and 3) strategic planning.
Other Busin= ess
WVRHA Displ= ay	Patricia Crawford announced that the WVRHA Display a= nd information would be at the Capitol on Monday, January 28, 2008 during R= ural Health Day at the Legislature.
New Agreeme= nt with PCA	Michael Thompson said that the board would need to e= nter into another agreement with the Primary Care Association for fiscal management of funds. More information will be discussed at the next meeting.
