Treasurer’s Report |
Members received the report via email. Treasurer Susan Chapman reported there were no expenditures or income in April. The May report will reflect several transactions. |

NRHA Dual
Membership Pilot Program |
Patti Crawford asked the board to consider a decision on the NRHA dual membership program in which WVRHA members could join both state and national organizations for a reduced fee. Members could still choose to join only the state association. Patti Crawford will email Angela Broderick to request a current NRHA membership list. April Vestal will prepare an email survey regarding interest in dual membership. |

Small Technical
Assistance Grant |
Patti Crawford presented information about NRHA TA grants of $500 – 3,000. Board members expressed interest in submitting a proposal for the community health forums. Patti Crawford will get information together on this. |

NRHA Conference –
Gorin Award |
Sally Richardson was awarded the prestigious Louis Gorin Award at the 2007 NRHA National Conference. The WVU Foundation hosted a reception in appreciation for Sally’s accomplishments. She received a beautiful Native Alaskan crafted pin as well from WVRHA. |

Update on Rural Community
Health Forums |
· Patti Crawford shared information on the forums. The Policy Committee has not provided an update with specific dates, locations, or a budget. It was suggested that a flyer be developed by the Policy Committee with all dates and locations. ·
Locations - AHEC/RHEP are scheduling forums,
including · Gail Bellamy, with the WVU Health Policy Institute will be the forum facilitator. · A budget plan is needed to reflect estimated costs of the forums. TA grant monies and silent auction proceeds are designated for forums. |
Patti Crawford will contact the Policy Committee to request a full report prior to the June 25 face-to-face meeting. |

State Association
Council Report |
· Patti Crawford will attend the NRHA Skill Building Workshop June 14-15, 2007 in New · USDA
Partnership with Critical reported on a presentation at the NRHA Conference on federal support for remodeling hospitals. There will be a session on this at the WV Rural Health Conference. · WV was well represented with 34-36 attendees (the most from any one state) and several WV members moderated sessions and made poster presentations. · Mark
your calendars for the May 7-10, 2008 conference in Abstracts deadline is June 29, 2007. |

WVRHC Planning |
· Note the date changes for the WV Rural Health Conference, October 23-25, 2007 at Glade Springs Resort. · A specific time will be set for the board meeting prior to the conference - either Monday 10/22 evening or Tuesday 10/23 morning, depending on conference start time. · Melissa Wheeler and Susan Chapman reported plans are moving along. Registration will be on the webpage. Please forward any ideas you have about the conference. The Arnold Agency is handling conference details. |

Membership & Communications |
April Vestal and Alicia Tyler reported the committee work on an email logo to clearly identify the WVRHA. Some members said the logo did not come through on their email; the committee will work to resolve this. Also, a listserve has been developed. |

Fundraising |
Patti Crawford reported that the committee met and the Office of Rural Health Policy & Recruitment requested the silent auction be held during the entire conference. Members and board members will all be asked to help bring items and staff the auction room. Bring any items to future meetings. Jeff Graham volunteered to store them. |
